Ryan and his WALL-E
I recently had the opportunity to join Dave Savage of Mortgage Coach, speaking to his audience about applying classic concepts from the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie to the way we connect with others virtually. In his book, Carnegie speaks a lot about the importance of being genuinely interested in someone as a way of building a friendship. I’m reminded of how often we see interesting things in the background of someone’s shot. This is a perfect opportunity to ask questions and learn more about whoever you’re meeting with! And this goes both ways! Being intentional about what’s in the background of your shot opens the door for others to learn more about you as well!
Watch this snippet from my interview with Dave to learn why I use a Lego WALL-E in my background.
And here’s a link to the entire interview on the Mortgage Coach YouTube channel. Oh! And if you haven’t yet subscribed to Rene Rodriguez’s Podcast, The Neuro Side of Influence and Leadership, I was recently a guest on the episode "Surviving and Thriving Through Change"! Check it out!
That’s all I’ve got for now! I hope you’re enjoying the summer. And if you’re looking for help with your video setup, hit me up!
